There are three ways to run Bluejay simulations against a LiveKit agent. Which one you need depends on two things: how your agent is deployed, and who starts the call.
  • Inbound agent: your agent answers calls. Bluejay’s Digital Human starts the conversation.
  • Outbound agent: your agent places calls. Bluejay’s Digital Human answers.

Direct — inbound

Bluejay creates a room in your LiveKit project, dispatches your agent into it, and joins the Digital Human. No SIP, no trunks.

SIP — inbound

Bluejay dials your project’s SIP host. You provision an inbound trunk and dispatch rule.

Outbound

Bluejay gives each Digital Human a number to answer on and notifies your system. Your agent dials.
Testing an inbound agent with no specific reason to use SIP? Use Direct connection. It’s fewer moving parts and avoids trunk and dispatch configuration.
