# POST /v1/red-team-simulations

> Start a Red Teaming run.

Starts a red team test against an agent. Each attack is a real voice call.## Confirm the test1) Send the request without `confirmed`. The response has `needs_confirmation: true` and a `preview` text. Nothing runs.
2) Send the same request with `confirmed: true`. The response has `test_id`, `simulation_id`, and `simulation_run_id`.## Limits| Setting | Default | Maximum |

| `recon_count` | 3 | max\_total\_dhs |Send these settings inside `config`. Values above the maximum are lowered to the maximum. Each family in `attack_quotas` allows 20 attempts at most.## Errors- 400: the agent uses SMS.
- 402 with code `RED_TEAMING_PAYMENT_METHOD_REQUIRED`: the organization has no payment method.
- 403 with code `red_team_custom_matrix_not_allowed`: `attack_quotas` needs a Growth plan or higher. Check with [Get Red Team Entitlements](/api-reference/endpoint/get-red-team-entitlements.md).Rate limit: 30 requests per minute.## Headers
